Ester Rada
Funk/Soul/R&B
Bio
Ester Rada is the new soul of the black Middle East. She was born in Israel but her family is Ethiopian. Ester has been influenced by soul music from the early 20th century such as Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald and Aretha Franklin as well as more contemporary black divas like Eryka Badu, Lauryn Hill and Jill Scott. Her border-crossing sound gracefully combines funk, soul and r&b with Ethio-Jazz. Right now she is working with acclaimed Israeli producers Kuti (Kutiman/Thru-You) and Sabbo (Soulico) to put out her first EP which is expected to be released by fall 2012. She has already performed many shows outside of Israel in Australia, U.S., Canada, Switzerland and Germany with her various other projects. Truly an up and coming artist to watch!
